Transient Noise Bursts with Announcements

Poetry // Noise Music

Perhaps unlikely bedfellows, but ones which come together at FOUNDATIONS for a one-off  live collaborative experiment. Imagine the crowd-pleasing DJ/MC pitch battles that defined the nascent hip hop scene in New York – but reimagined for the 21st century in a very different kind of urban environment.

Four Noise artists – including Pandemonium, Mickey Strangeways, the intriguingly named Oberloytnant and the (scene unspecifically) notorious Needle Factory.

Then add Four poets – Ella Otomewo, Godfather, Neo_101 and Emily Oldfield – each presenting a very different strand of spoken word material.

None of these artists have collaborated previously – and before the day, very few of them will have even met in person. The PA will be set up and ready – and a very cursory ‘who goes first’ conversation will happen just before the event.

What happens next will, if nothing else, be nothing like anything else you see at this, or any other festival this year…
