Tales Of Whatever: A Lunchtime Experience

Tales Of Whatever: A Lunchtime Experience

To open the 2nd day of FOUNDATIONS, we are thrilled to welcome Tales Of Whatever – ‘True stories told live in Manchester and beyond!’ – to our non-music programme. ‘A Lunchtime Experience’ will be a refreshingly different take on the ‘formal’ music festival Q&A – we’re bypassing the usual panels of experts or formal lectures, and instead going straight for the real stories behind the core festival themes and some of the artists we’re showcasing. Founded in 2011, Tales of Whatever presents, produces and records regular live showcases, workshops and special site-specific true storytelling events. Their live shows place first-timers alongside more seasoned performers to share experience-based true stories, told on stage without notes for a public audience.

There will be six storytellers appearing at FOUNDATIONS (names to be revealed closer to the event), but the show will also very much be ‘audience interactive’ – if you’ve experienced a Tales of Whatever event previously, you’ll understand what we mean here! Tales of Whatever holds monthly storytelling nights at Gulliver’s in the Northern Quarter, and they’ve have also presented one-off shows for a range of UK festivals and organisations including Latitude festival, The Albany theatre (London), Cornerhouse galleries (Manchester), Story City (Leicester), and Holmfirth Arts Festival.
