Mark Corrin

Mark Corrin (formerly known as Shirokuma) is a Liverpool born, Manchester based writer, producer & radio broadcaster. He currently presents a weekly radio show for Salford City Radio 94.4FM and is the bassist with popular Manchester based act Rose & The Diamond Hand. Mark has previously collaborated with the likes of Can’s Damo Suzuki, The Fall / Blue Orchid’s Una Baines, Max Tundra and Andy Votel and currently assists with the running of Manchester’s Valentine Records.

He has released four full length albums with Valentine –plus a fifth, his 2005 debut with Faith & Hope Records – alongside all manner of EPS, singles, collaborations and compilation appearances. Mark’s early demo CDRs as Shirokuma made him a regular favourite on John Peel’s BBC Radio 1 Show for the final five years of its broadcast, while the likes ofRob Da Bank and FloMotion’s Nick Luscombe continue to be keen radio supporters

At the end of 2014 Mark retired the Shirokuma title and began writing and releasing music under his own name: starting with an impressive series of 12 x EPs throughout 2015 – which culminated in the (perfectly formed) compendium LP  “Archipelago Quest” on Valentine in early 2016.
